Antoan Richardson's Major League Debut

Pearl, MS - On Sunday, September 4, Mississippi Brave Antoan Richardson, made his big league debut in Atlanta against the Los Angles Dodgers. Richardson singled to right field securing his first Major League hit during his first Major League at bat, while pinch hitting for former M-Brave, Randall Delgado.

Richardson, who made his first Double-A start on May 27, 2010, has seen action in 165 M-Braves games and nine games for Triple-A Gwinnett since 2010.

During his 2011 stint in Mississippi, Richardson hit .283 for the year, with 77 hits, 9 doubles, 1 Homerun, and 21 RBIs. His phenomenal speed helped him acquire 17 stolen bases, ranking him 14th, tying him with two others, in the Southern League.

Highlights from the year, include an impressive grand slam against Jacksonville which helped earn the 9-8 victory against the Suns in late July. In June, he went 4 for 4 against Montgomery earning him 3 RBIs and in May, he hit .365 with an on-base percentage of .494. In addition, the outfielder has been solid defensively only committing 2 errors for the season.
