Kings, Ashford University Reach Naming Deal

Clinton, IA - The Clinton LumberKings are proud to announce a new partnership with Ashford University, officially changing the name of Clinton's ballpark to "Ashford University Field". The agreement runs through the end of the 2014 season.

"We are very fortunate to have Ashford University as our naming rights partner," said LumberKings' General Manager Ted Tornow. "They have provided the entire community with so many positive things and this is the start of what we anticipate being a very long and solid future for both our respective organizations".

"This agreement is a win for the LumberKings, the city of Clinton and Ashford University," said Ashford Vice President and Campus Director, John Ballheim. "We're excited about putting our name on such a historic, attractive ballpark that will also serve as the home field for our Saints baseball team".

The name change for the ballpark - originally known as Riverview Stadium - will go into effect as of October 1 pending Clinton City Council approval. Fans will soon see new signage at the ballpark with a brand new "Ashford University Field" logo.

The LumberKings, Midwest League affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, open the 2012 season at Ashford University Field on Thursday, April 5 as they take on Burlington.
