Knights Press Release

Baseball Factory and sponsor Under Armour will hold an open tryout at Knights Stadium for high school players in the Charlotte area

Baseball Factory will conduct the tryout, scout all players and select players for Under Armour Baseball Factory National Teams and Under Armour Baseball Factory National Training Camps

FORT MILL, S.C. -The Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout will take place in Fort Mill, SC on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Knights Stadium, home of the Charlotte Knights, the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.  All high school athletes ages 14-18 are encouraged to attend. Players are asked to report to the field at noon for registration, and the tryout is scheduled to begin at 1 pm. The registration fee is $99. Please contact Baseball Factory to enroll at 800-641-4487 x101 or visit www.BaseballFactory.com.  Top players from the tryout may be selected for one of the following national teams or events: the Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City, the Under Armour Recruiting Classic, and the Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City.

Many talented players from the region have come through Baseball Factory's program including Taylorsville native Logan Galliher.  In 2010, Logan attended an Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout, where his performance earned him a selection to the 2010 Arizona Senior Fall Classic and the prestigious 2011 Under Armour Preseason All-America Tournament.  Past Pre-Season All-Americans include David Wright, of the New York Mets; BJ Upton, of the Tampa Bay Rays and Charlotte Knights alums Gavin Floyd and Lastings Milledge.  Logan, primarily an outfielder, graduated from Alexander Central High School this past spring and has continued his academic and baseball success at Erskine College.

Baseball Factory's staff of professional scouts, former professional players, and former college coaches will evaluate players on the field and lead a college recruiting question and answer session.  Those in attendance will learn about the college recruiting process and the steps players should take in order to increase their chances of playing college baseball and receiving scholarships.

Since 1994, Baseball Factory has helped over 30,000 high school players reach their dream of playing college baseball.  In addition, over 2,500 players have been drafted and 260 have gone on to play in the majors.  Baseball Factory and Under Armour conduct over 100 tryouts a year throughout the country.
