Bagwell donates gear for hurricane relief

Astros veteran leaves jersey, cap, bat with Hooks
September 3, 2005
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- Houston Astros' star Jeff Bagwell completed his three-game rehab assignment with the Hooks on Saturday, but he left behind a few items for the specific purpose of donating them to the effort to help survivors in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

A seven-day auction has begun on eBay for a unique Jeff Bagwell package. Jeff graciously donated his #55 game-worn Hooks' home jersey, his game-worn Hooks' cap, his game-used bat and an official Texas League baseball. Each item has been signed by Bagwell, and the auction is for the entire package.

All proceeds from the auction will go to the American Red Cross' Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.

You can access the package by putting the following number in the "start new search" box in the upper right hand corner of eBay's homepage.
