Ryu pitches West Tenn to 5-2 victory over Mobile

The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx completed a season-long sweep of the Southern League Northern Division on Monday with a 5-2 triumph over the Mobile BayBears. Ryu (11-8) won his third straight decision, limiting the BayBears to one run on seven hits with a walk and six strikeouts. He lowered his ERA to 3.34, which ranks eighth in the SL.

Jonathan Searles breezed through the eighth and Andy Shipman gave up a run in the ninth before securing the Diamond Jaxx's third straight win.

West Tenn gave Ryu a quick lead as Casey McGehee delivered a two-run double in the opening inning and Buck Coats had an RBI groundout. McGehee also singled in a run in the third to make it 4-0.

Joe Gerber led off the seventh with his 16th home run for Mobile, which ended the season with three straight losses to finish 30-38. Brian Whitaker (8-13) surrendered all five runs on nine hits in six innings, walking four and striking out two.
