RedHawks Release 2012 Schedule

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City RedHawks have announced the schedule for the 2012 championship season, including the season and home opener on Thursday, April 5 with a 7:05 p.m. start against the Memphis Redbirds (Cardinals).

The 2012 RedHawks home schedule includes eight games against each team from the American Conference (Albuquerque, Iowa, Memphis, Nashville, New Orleans, Omaha and Round Rock) and four games against each of the Pacific Conference Southern Division teams (Fresno, Las Vegas, Sacramento and Tucson). The RedHawks travel for eight games against each of the American Conference teams and visit each of the Pacific Conference Northern Division teams for four games each (Colorado Springs, Reno, Salt Lake, Tacoma).

It will mark the seventh time in the last eight seasons (2005-09, 2011-12) that the RedHawks have faced the Redbirds in the season opener, including an 8-7 win at Memphis on Opening Night 2011. The opener is part of an eight-game homestand as the RedHawks will host the Redbirds April 5-8 and Nashville Sounds (Brewers) April 9-12.

The month of April also features the first American Southern divisional play of the 2012 season during an eight-game homestand, including four games against the Albuquerque Isotopes (Dodgers) April 21-24 before welcoming the defending division champion Round Rock Express (Rangers) April 26-29.

In May the RedHawks will host a pair of Pacific Conference Southern Division teams as the Las Vegas 51s (Blue Jays) visit Bricktown May 8-11 before the Tucson Padres (Padres) follow for a four-game set May 12-15.

As the calendar turns to June, the RedHawks will host a season-long 12-game homestand, including four-game series against the Nashville Sounds May 29-June 1, Iowa Cubs (Cubs) June 2-5 and the division rival New Orleans Zephyrs (Marlins) June 7-10.

The RedHawks welcome the defending Pacific Coast League Champion Omaha Storm Chasers (Royals) to Bricktown for a four-game homestand June 23-26.

Memphis returns to Oklahoma City for a four-game series June 30-July 3.

The RedHawks will open the post-All-Star Break season with a four-game home series against the New Orleans Zephyrs July 12-15. Oklahoma City will close out the month of June with an eight-game homestand including four games against Iowa July 24-27 and Omaha July 28-31.

As the division races heat up in the month of August, the RedHawks will host two teams from the Pacific Northern division, as the defending division champion Sacramento River Cats visit Bricktown August 10-13 and the Fresno Grizzlies August 14-17.

The RedHawks close out the home schedule on the final week of the regular season with an eight-game stand against division rival Albuquerque August 27-30 and Round Rock August 31-September 3.

RedHawks regular season Monday through Saturday games at RedHawks Field at Bricktown are scheduled for 7:05 p.m., with the exception of 11:05 a.m. games Wednesday May 9, Tuesday May 15, Tuesday June 26 and Monday September 3 (Labor Day). Sunday games in April and May will begin at 2:05 p.m. with June through September Sunday games starting at 6:05 p.m.
