One lucky lady will win a new diamond on Diamond Dig Night June 29

June 6, 2007
It has been said diamonds are forever. The excitement one female Jammer fan will receive Friday, June 29 at Diethrick Park will last a lifetime.

The Jammers host New York-Penn League Pinckney Division rival, the State College Spikes June 29 at 7:05 p.m. The biggest competition of the night, however, may come after the final out is recorded. That's because June 29 is Carlson's Jewelry Diamond Dig Night. Immediately following the game, all females over the age of 18 in attendance will be invited down to the field to search for a new diamond ring buried in the infield before the game. The Jammers staff will provide digging tools. The lucky treasure hunter who discovers the ring will walk away from the ballpark as the envy of all the other ladies with a new diamond on her finger courtesy of Carlson's Jewelry in Jamestown.

The ring, a 10k yellow gold filigree style set with 3 diamonds in a white gold bar across top, will be buried in its box so fans won't need to worry about cleaning off their new prize, either. It retails for $289, according to Chris Carlson of Carlson's Jewelry.

Jammers General Manager Matt Drayer says Diamond Dig Night is one of the best promotions of the season.

"It's really fun to watch the fans out there digging like their lives depend on it," Drayer said. "The fans really get into it. The ladies are all business when there's diamonds on the line."
