McKenry, Tourists top GreenJackets

Michael McKenry hit a go-ahead two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning as Asheville topped visiting Augusta, 5-3, on Tuesday.

Geoff Strickland doubled with one out in the eighth and Daniel Mayora was intentionally walked before McKenry grounded the decisive hit to left field.

Mike Paulk went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, his third, in the first, while Anthony Jackson and Bret Berglund had two hits apiece for the Tourists (42-17).

Asheville starter Aneury Rodriguez gave up three runs on seven hits while striking out seven and walking two in six innings. William Harris allowed a hit and fanned two in one scoreless inning and James Burok (1-0) tossed a scoreless eighth for the win.

Tommy Baumgardner fanned two in the ninth for his seventh save.

Augusta starter Clayton Tanner yielded three runs on four hits and one walk, striking out six in six innings. Ryan Shaver (0-1) gave up two runs on four hits with a walk and two strikeouts in two innings.

Emmanuel Burriss went 4-for-4 for the Green Jackets (36-22).
