Pie a DJ at Omaha

June 8, 2007
OMAHA, Neb. -- What radio guy do you want to pie? That's the title of an on-line poll launched this week by the Omaha Royals.

The team is inviting fans to visit www.Oroyals.com and vote for which one of four local radio personalities they would like to see take a pie in the face during a game next month at Rosenblatt Stadium.

The four radio personalities are: Kevin Kugler of 1620 The Zone, Glennboy of Star 104.5, KFAB's Tom Becka and Big Party of 94.1. Voting will run through Tuesday, July 3rd and the "winner" will be announced on Monday, July 9th. That personality will get a full face shot of a Village Inn cream pie during the Royals game on Thursday, July 12th, vs. the Iowa Cubs.

The poll first appeared on the team's website this Monday at noon. As of late Thursday afternoon, more than 2,600 fans had already cast their votes.

Since the Royals new mascot, Spike, had the honor of "pie-ing" Royals President Alan Stein during the Royals' home opener on April 13th, the Royals long-time mascot Casey will have the fun duty of tossing the pie at the radio personality who gets the most votes in the on-line poll.
