ValleyCats unveil promo calendar
Fans can expect the unexpected as the 2007 lineup is loaded with never-before-seen entertainment along with some spectacular one-of-a-kind giveaways. The biggest bang on the 2007 promo calendar is the amazing 11 post-game fireworks extravaganzas and five high-end Hall of Fame giveaways throughout the 'Cats 38-game home slate.
Kicking off the season Opening Day, every single fan through the front gates will receive a ValleyCats 2007 Schedule Magnet, presented by CDTA.
The second game of the year, on June 25, will be Banner Night at "The Joe" as 2,000 ValleyCats Pennants will be given away. This game is also the first of the 11 fireworks shows this season. The Post-Game Price Chopper Fireworks Shows are dispersed on different days of the week this season, providing fun-filled, colorful nights throughout the entire summer.
Fireworks dates include: Monday, June 25; Wednesday, June 27; Independence Week Fireworks on Wednesday, July 4, Thursday, July 5, and Friday July 6; Saturday, July 14; Thursday, July 26; Friday, Aug. 3; Saturday, Aug. 11; Monday Aug. 20; and Fan Appreciation Night on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
On June 26, a new member of the ValleyCats family will be introduced as Pappy Southpaw will take the stage. Besides Pappy, a number of exciting and whacky mascots can be seen roaming around "The Joe" this season. Keep an eye out for Spiedie the Chicken, Valvoline Man, the Toothfairy and many more.
As a sequel to the original Insignificant Events Night in 2006, fans can enjoy (or not enjoy) Insignificant Events Night 2.8 on June 28. On this night, fans can enjoy non-contests between innings and tons of useless information about insignificant subjects.
June 30 is the World Air Guitar Championships. Fans can bring their own air guitars to the ballpark and show off their skills on the field during the game.
There will be several theme nights throughout the season to showcase some of the best food, music and entertainment around. Some of those themes include Country Music Night (July 12), Halloween in July (July 13), Christmas in July (July 25), Italian Night (July 26), Hawaiian Night (Aug. 10) and Irish Night (Aug. 28).
Take a ride through time and check out our decade-themed nights, bringing back memories from the best years of our lives. These nights will have themed music, trivia and fireworks with dates including 90's Night (June 27), 80's Night (July 14), 70's Night (Aug. 3), 60's Night (Aug. 11) and 50's Night (Aug. 20).
Why just celebrate Independence Day when you can celebrate the entire independence week. This series versus the Vermont Lake Monsters will be highlighted by a three-day fireworks extravaganza for the games on July 4, 5 and 6.
This season the ValleyCats are bringing you some of the most exceptional giveaways we have done to date. These include a Nolan Ryan Statue Giveaway (July 11), a Jeff Bagwell Statue Giveaway (July 24), a Hall of Fame Night Baseball Giveaway featuring Johnny Evers and King Kelly (July 27), the always popular Used Car Giveaway (July 28), Tony Gwynn Hall of Fame Plaque (Aug. 2), ValleyCats Piggy Bank Giveaway (Aug. 26), Cal Ripken Jr. Hall of Fame Plaque Giveaway (Aug. 27) and a Back to School Night Notebook Giveaway (Sept. 2).
On Aug. 26 the Mysterious Zoggy? will be visiting "The Joe." Who is Zoggy?, what does Zoggy? do and where does Zoggy? come from? Find out Aug. 26.
In addition to all of these great promotional nights, the ValleyCats contests and between-inning promotions kicked it up a notch, adding even more hilarious, interactive fun. Some new additions include the Valvoline Man Frisbee Crowd Toss, the Wolberg Electric Slide, the Capital Vacuuming of Home Plate and Vitamin Waterballoon Toss. The popular promos from '06, such as the DeNooyer Chevrolet T-Shirt Toss, Waste Management Garbage Race and the Father/Son Homerun Contest, will all be returning as well.
