SeaWolves Announce 2012 Schedule
The Erie SeaWolves, Double-A Affiliate of the American League Central Champion Detroit Tigers, have announced their 2012 schedule.
The SeaWolves begin the 2012 season in Altoona on Thursday, April 5 and will play their home opener on Thursday, April 12 against the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles).
2012 marks the 18th season of Erie SeaWolves baseball, the team's 14th season at the Double-A level, and the 12th season of the club's affiliation with the Detroit Tigers. The 2012 season will be the 111th year of Minor League Baseball.
The 2012 schedule features 33 weekend games (Friday-Sunday) and 10 Monday Buck Nights. All Sunday home games will now start at 1:35 p.m., 30 minutes later than in 2011. Most weekday (Monday-Thursday) games in April and May will once again begin at 6:35 p.m. Most weekday games from June through September will start at 7:05 p.m.
Education Days, which provide area teachers with opportunities to use baseball to reinforce lessons taught in the classroom, will take place on May 3 (vs. Altoona), May 16 (vs. Akron) and May 24 (vs. Reading) with 11:05 a.m. starts. The SeaWolves will host a special 12:35 p.m. start for business outings on April 18 (vs. Trenton) and two weekday 12:05 p.m. matinees to host summer camps, senior centers, and business outings on June 21 and July 18 (both games vs. Bowie). Additional game day promotions will be announced at a later date.
