Kane County fans have big weekend ahead
June 12, 2007
GENEVA, Ill. -- With summer approaching, the Cougars are calling on all fans to make Elfstrom Stadium their destination for family-friendly fun this homestand. Four fireworks shows, an appearance by Mandy Moore, and some very cool summer giveaways are all part of the jam-packed lineup!

Wednesday, June 13 - 6:30 p.m.

The homestand kicks off a little earlier than usual, as the ERIC AND KATHY SHOW from WTMX (The Mix, 101.9 FM) will broadcast live at Elfstrom Stadium from 6-9 a.m. The Cougars were selected as the winning venue to host the popular morning show. The event, which is free and open to the public, includes special guests MANDY MOORE, as well as EMERSON HART from the music group TONIC. The Cougars promotions team and SCOTT MAY'S ONE-ARM ORCHESTRA will entertain the crowd throughout the morning. Later that evening, the Cougars begin a two-game series against the Clinton LumberKings, Class-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. Following the game, fans will be treated to a post-game FIREWORKS show, and can RUN THE BASES following fireworks.

Thursday, June 14 - 6:30 p.m.

Arriving just in time for the first trip to the pool, the Cougars are giving away BEACH TOWELS to the first 2,000 fans, courtesy of Nicor. The No. 1 nerd for baseball fun, MYRON NOODLEMAN, makes his first appearance of the season and will perform his unique in-game comedy routine. The sky lights up immediately following the game as the Cougars present a FIREWORKS show set to classical music. Take a victory lap after the fireworks show as fans can RUN THE BASES, presented by Allstate.

Friday, June 15 - 6:30 p.m.

Friday's frenzy against the Burlington Bees (affiliate of the Kansas City Royals) kicks off with a great giveaway - Provena Mercy Medical Center TAILGATE CHAIRS will be given to the first 2,000 fans through the gates. The ZOOPERSTARS will bounce, hop and dance their way through hilarious in-game entertainment, featuring inflatable characters such as Clammy Sosa, Shark McGwire and Harry Canary, who will be leading the charges during the 7th inning stretch! Following the game, the JESSE WHITE TUMBLERS take to the field - and to the air - as the talented group puts on a gymnastics display that must be seen to truly appreciate. Don't be cruel - stick around for an awesome Elvis-themed FIREWORKS show that will light up the nighttime sky. Put on your running shoes for a fantastic RUN THE BASES opportunity for all fans.

Saturday, June 16 - 6 p.m.

Begin your Saturday visit to Elfstrom Stadium by taking part in a worthy cause. From 4-6 p.m., fans can contribute to the building of a shed that will be used for a Thrivent Builds with HABITAT FOR HUMANITY home in St. Charles. Kids may also take part in a NAIL-DRIVING CONTEST and BUCKET TOSS GAME. Fans can put down the hammers and take the field for a pre-game AUTOGRAPH SESSION, courtesy of Edy's Ice Cream. YOUTH BASEBALL JERSEYS will be presented to the first 2,000 children age 14 and under, compliments of Jewel-Osco. SKYDIVERS will make an exciting entrance and land on the field just prior to game time. Get in touch with your 80's side as the Cougars pay tribute to the most forgotten decade of music with an 80's FIREWORKS show. Fans can make a memory and RUN THE BASES following fireworks.
