Umpires announced for Triple-A ASG
The man behind the plate, Armendariz, is currently in his eighth season as an umpire in the Pacific Coast League and his 13th season as a professional umpire. Prior to joining the PCL, Ramon served career assignments in the Arizona, Midwest, Northwest, California, Texas, and Arizona Fall Leagues. The Vista, Calif. native has also worked four seasons of Major League Baseball Spring Training and a single season in the Dominican Republic Winter League. In 2006, he was selected to work in the Inaugural World Baseball Classic.
Joe Judkowitz, who will be manning first base, is in his fourth season of service with the International League. Before joining the Triple-A ranks, he worked games in the Gulf Coast, New York-Penn, South Atlantic, Florida State, Eastern and Arizona Fall Leagues. A native of Coral Springs, Fla., Judkowitz is in his eighth year as a professional umpire.
Second base umpire Shawn Rakos is a ten-year veteran and is in his fifth season with the Pacific Coast League. In addition to his time with the PCL, he has spent seasons in the Arizona, Northwest, Midwest, Carolina, California, Texas, and Arizona Fall Leagues. The Orting, Washington native has also been assigned to Major League Spring Training duty the last two seasons.
Making the calls on the third-base side of the diamond will be another ten-year veteran, Adrian Johnson. Now in his fourth season at the Triple-A level, Johnson has also seen time in the Major Leagues over the last two seasons. His resume includes additional service with the Pioneer, Florida State, Eastern, and Arizona Fall Leagues. The resident of Houston, Texas was selected to work 2007 Major League Spring Training as well.
