St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend to end at AZP

AutoZone Park becomes site of marathon finish line for 10th straight year

MEMPHIS, TN - There are more than 16,000 runners and walkers participating in four different St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend races sponsored by Juice Plus Saturday, December 3, and each of them will complete the event at AutoZone Park for the 10th consecutive year.

Gates will open at 6:30a.m. for participant and spectator access. Spectators can view the race from the stadium bowl seating throughout the ballpark. The Memphis Grizzlies House 5K race begins at 7:15 a.m. followed by the Half and Full Marathons starting at 8:00 a.m. while the Family Race will take place at 1:00 p.m.

Six Memphis Redbirds employees are participating in the races this year, three will be running the Half Marathon while the other three will be running the Memphis Grizzlies House 5K including first time race runner, Sales Coordinator Jon Leshner. Training and preparing for the race has been a journey, but also a rewarding and gratifying experience for each runner.

"I am really looking forward to running my first race." Leshner explained, "Being part of such an amazing event while supporting St. Jude is a wonderful opportunity. I have received a lot of encouragement from my family and friends and I can't wait for the race!"

Rockey will also be in attendance at the races, cheering on participants and welcoming spectators. Everyone is encouraged to join us at AutoZone Park in support of the St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend this Saturday while enjoying the weekend in Downtown Memphis and assisting in spreading awareness about St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
