Lane Named General Manager of Greeneville Astros
Lane enters his second season with the Houston Astros organization and his first overseeing the Greeneville operation as General Manager. During the 2006 season, Lane served as the Assistant General Manager and his duties involved corporate sales, group sales, ticket operations and management of game-day staff. Lane was named Interim GM in September 2006.
"After working with David for the last year and a half, and going through an extensive search, it became clear that the perfect candidate was already within the organization," said Houston Astros Assistant General Manager/Baseball Operations David Gottfried. "David has provided tremendous leadership and has become a strong presence within the Greeneville community."
The 2006 Greeneville Astros finished 34-33 and in second place in the West Division while also leading the Appalachian League in attendance for the third consecutive season. Greeneville will begin the 2007 season on June 19 vs. Johnson City.
As an undergraduate student at Clemson University, Lane interned with the Class A Charleston RiverDogs of the South Atlantic League. Upon graduation in December of 2000, he accepted a full-time position with the RiverDogs, where he worked in Food and Beverage during the 2001 season. In 2005, Lane accepted a position as Director of Food and Beverage with the Class A Greenville Bombers in Greenville, SC. He also assisted in the Sales and Marketing Department with both group sales and ticket sales.

Aside from his time working in baseball, Lane is very active in the community. He serves on the board of directors at the Boys and Girls Club of Greeneville/Greene County and is also a member of the Rotary Club of Greeneville and the Greene County Tourism Advisory Task Force. Lane resides in Greeneville and enjoys spending time with his daughter, Olivia.

Reed was named Assistant General Manager after serving as the Director of Marketing and Media Relations for the Greeneville Astros during the 2006 season. He was an Operations and Promotions intern in 2005 and also spent one season interning with the Kingsport Mets.
Reed is a native of Piney Flats, Tenn., and received his Master's in Sports Management from East Tennessee State University in 2005. He is proud to remain in East Tennessee while working with the Astros and has become a member of the Kiwanis Club of Greeneville.
Pugh will return for a second season as Assistant General Manager for the Greeneville Astros. Prior to coming to Greeneville, Pugh spent a summer working as an intern for the Houston Astros baseball operations department. For three years, he served as the Marketing and Promotions intern for the Houston Astros Triple A affiliate, the Round Rock Express. He is a member of the Exchange Club of Greeneville.
Pugh graduated in 2005 from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Finance. He was raised in Round Rock, Texas, but originally hails from Hershey, Penn.
