Captains and Partners to Present 4th of July Fireworks
(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, the Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, along with several area business are happy to announce that the annual Eastlake Independence Day Fireworks Show for 2012 will go on as planned on July 4.
Due to budget cuts, the City of Eastlake was forced to cancel the free community event last week, however, the Captains and several local businesses have made it a priority to ensure the event, which annually attracts over 8,000 people to Classic Park, will continue.
The Captains have always contributed financially to the cost of the fireworks display, in addition to providing staffing and entertainment during the evening before the fireworks display. In 2012, the Captains will increase its financial commitment significantly and with the help of local businesses, the fireworks show will remain at the high level that attendees have come to enjoy in previous years.
The businesses that have financially committed thus far include Medical Mutual, Lake Health, Bryant and Stratton College, EZ Pole Flagpoles and PNC Bank. The Captains are seeking additional corporate partners to ensure all costs associated with hosting this event are covered.
"The Captains feel that it is important for this community event to continue and our ownership decided to increase our organization's financial commitment, in partnership with many key local corporate sponsors, to ensure it is not cancelled", explained Captains Vice President and General Manager Brad Seymour. "Based on how well it is attended, Eastlake residents enjoy, and deserve, the fun festivities and activities that surround this tradition at Classic Park. We cannot thank our corporate partners enough for investing in the shared belief that this event is important for our community."
The free event will take place at Classic Park beginning in the evening of July 4. Activities and entertainment will take place throughout Classic Park prior to the fireworks display, presented by American Fireworks, that will start at dusk.
Full season tickets plans, 7-, 12-, 20-, and 35-game mini ticket plans for the Captains 2012 season are also on sale now at great prices, complete with several exclusive benefits. Information can be found at the Captains website www.captainsbaseball.com.
