Express announce three promotions

Fragoso, Green, Almendarez earn new roles
January 10, 2012
ROUND ROCK, Texas -- The Round Rock Express Baseball Club announced three front office promotions Tuesday. Laura Fragoso (marketing) and Henry Green (sales) have been named senior vice presidents, while Chris Almendarez has been named vice president for corporate sales and assistant general manager.

Fragoso is in her 12th season with the Express and has worked her way up the organization's ladder after starting as an intern. A 2011 finalist for the Rawlings Minor League Baseball Woman Executive of the Year award, Fragoso oversees all marketing and creative efforts, and coordinates special events at The Dell Diamond. She also books Express game-day party areas, and is the main point of contact for Express luxury suite holders. Fragoso is a native of Dothan, Ala., and earned a Bachelor of Arts in public relations from the University of Alabama.

Green also is in his 12th season with the Express, spending the entirety of his tenure as a member of the organization's sales staff. He served as general manager of two professional soccer clubs in his native New Orleans prior to his Round Rock days. Green also was an external affairs officer in the athletic department at Tulane University, working with sales, marketing and promotion. He is a 1992 Tulane graduate with a Bachelor of Science in sports management.

Almendarez joined the Express staff in 2009 as a senior account executive before moving to the director of baseball outreach position for the 2011 season. Coordinator of Express Baseball Camps, Almendarez oversees the organization's business development and baseball operations, and he assists general manager George King in the club's day-to-day operations. He worked in pharmaceutical sales and entrepreneurial business prior to joining the Express. Almendarez earned a Bachelor of Arts in mass communications from the University of Houston, where he earned two letters in baseball.

"Laura and Henry have been integral parts of our organization nearly since day one, and Chris has been a valuable addition to our staff these past two seasons," Express president, Dave Fendrick, said. "The promotions are very well deserved, and we feel they will bring the type of leadership that is necessary as Round Rock Express Baseball progresses in its second decade."

The Round Rock Express will host the back-to-back American League Champion Texas Rangers in an exhibition game Monday, April 2, at The Dell Diamond. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m., and tickets go on sale to the general public March 3.

The Express begin their 13th season and eighth season as a PCL member Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Iowa. Round Rock's home schedule begins Friday, April 13, as the Express host the Iowa Cubs and Omaha Storm Chasers in consecutive four-game series. Season ticket packages currently are available through The Dell Diamond box office or online. Individual game tickets for Express games go on sale March 3.

Round Rock Express Baseball, owned and operated by Ryan Sanders Baseball, LP, is the Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers and a member of the Pacific Coast League.
