Gwinnett Braves announce field staff
Dave Brundage
Brundage, the only manager G-Braves' fans have known since the team's arrival in Gwinnett County in 2009, returns for his sixth season overall as the skipper of Atlanta's Triple-A affiliate. The 48-year-old Brundage guided the G-Braves to a near playoff berth last season, going 78-65 and finishing a mere 1.5 games behind Lehigh Valley for the International League Wild Card spot. In 14 seasons as a Minor League manager in both the Braves and Seattle Mariners' systems, Brundage is a career 1,024-946. He captured the Braves' most recent Triple-A title, leading Richmond to the International League crown in 2007.
Marty Reed
Reed returns to the G-Braves' pitching coach post for his second season, and fourth overall in the Atlanta system. Last season, he led the pitching staff to the International League's lowest team ERA of 3.33, overseeing the development of 2011 IL Most Valuable Pitcher Julio Teheran, and other talented arms, including IL saves leader Jairo Asencio and IL innings leader Todd Redmond.
Jamie Dismuke
Dismuke is back for his fourth season in the Braves system, all spent as the hitting coach at Gwinnett. His offense finished eighth in the International League in team batting average with a .260 mark, but featured such potent bats as IL Postseason All-Star Stefan Gartrell, and the IL's leader in total bases, Mauro Gomez. Under Dismuke's watch, Gartrell (26 HR) and Gomez (24 HR) finished 2-3 in the circuit in home runs, while Gartrell led all league hitters in RBIs (94 total).
Mike Graus
Graus enters his 20th season with the Braves, his seventh season with the Triple-A affiliate and his fourth season with Gwinnett.
Brundage and the rest of his staff hit the field for the first time on Thursday, April 5, as they take on the Durham Bulls at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The G-Braves play their first home game at Coolray Field on Thursday, April 12 as they host Durham for a 7:05 p.m. start.
