Phillies name new clubhouse manager
A graduate of Temple University, Nelson, 23, previously worked with the R-Phils during the 2011 season as a full-time intern. During the season, Nelson gained experience in a variety of fields, including group sales, concessions, and graphic arts. He returned for another internship to help the sales staff during the offseason before being hired as clubhouse manager.
As part of Nelson's new duties, he will help make the future stars of the Philadelphia Phillies feel at home during their stints in Baseballtown. The Warwick High School graduate will also serve as equipment manager and coordinate team meals.
"I'm very proud to have Nelly [Andrew] come aboard with us in this type of role," said R-Phils General Manager Scott Hunsicker. "In just a little over a year, he's already been skilled in a handful of roles that have taken others years to experience. I couldn't dream of a better person to be our clubhouse manager."
Before his time with the R-Phils, Nelson worked for Delaware County Parks and Recreation while studying Sports and Recreation Management at Temple. Under his position with the parks department, Nelson helped organize the summer concert series, arts programs, and many other events that were held throughout the year.
