ESPN 100.9-FM Adds Jared Sandler to Team
MIDLAND, MI - ESPN 100.9-FM is pleased to announce the addition of Jared Sandler to the Great Lakes Bay Region and ESPN team, where he will serve as the station's Program Director, effective at the beginning of March.
In addition to his responsibilities as Program Director, Sandler will be the primary host of ESPN 100.9-FM's SportsNight, which airs weeknights from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. He will also join ESPN 100.9-FM's lead play-by-play broadcaster, Brad Golder, in the radio booth this summer to call Great Lakes Loons home games, as well as take on the play-by-play duties for the station's Saginaw Valley League football and basketball coverage.
"We are very excited to have Jared on board," ESPN 100.9-FM's General Manager Jerry O'Donnell said. "He brings solid knowledge and experience to our operation. His on-air presence and passion for sports will provide a great enhancement to the station and its properties."
Sandler, a Texas-native, most recently worked with the Great Falls Voyagers of the Pioneer League in 2011 as their Director of Media Relations, broadcasting all 76 games on 560 KMON AM in Great Falls, MT. In 2010, he called 70 games for the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers on 1340 KVBR AM in Brainerd, MN.
His prior experience also includes work in California, where he graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism. At USC he served as an ESPN Radio 710 AM correspondent and a radio broadcaster for USC Trojans All-Access.
ESPN 100.9-FM (WLUN, Pinconning) is a 24-hour all-sports station owned by the non-profit Michigan Radio Communications. The station is the flagship radio home of Great Lakes Loons baseball and carries the weekday lineup of Mike and Mike in the Morning, the Herd with Colin Cowherd, Scott Van Pelt Show, and The Huge Show with Bill Simonson. ESPN 100.9-FM also carries the Saginaw Valley League High School Football and Basketball Game of the Week, Michigan State athletics, Saginaw Valley State athletics and the NFL Sunday Doubleheader.
