Brown bests RockHounds
Brown gave the Missions a 4-1 lead in the eighth inning with his 11th homer. Dowdy delivered a two-run single in the third and Jeremy Cleveland and Sean Kazmar also had RBIs for San Antonio (4-1), which won its third in a row.
Missions starter Josh Geer (8-4) yielded a run on seven hits and three walks with five strikeouts over seven innings. The 24-year-old right-hander snapped a personal three-game losing streak with his first victory since May 16.
Vince Faison lifted a sacrifice fly in the seventh and Richie Robnett had two hits for the RockHounds (1-4).
Round Rock's Luis Ramirez (4-4) lost his second straight start after allowing two runs on five hits in six innings. He did not strike out or walk a batter. --Michael Echan/MLB.com
