Pringles Park named Field of the Year
"We are extremely proud of Tyler and the job his crew did last season. We were able to showcase Pringles Park to the entire league at the Southern League All-Star Game in 2011, and the field looked phenomenal." said Generals' general manager, Jason Compton.
The award represents an effort at distinguishing the variety of fields across the state, and gaining professional recognition for its members. It is designed to reflect special challenges to playing surface problems that were successfully faced with innovative solutions that provide outstanding contributions to the turfgrass industry.
"It is great to be recognized by your peers and professionals in the industry." said Generals turf manager, Tyler Brewer. "I was very fortunate to have a hardworking staff to get through the challenges of a grueling Southern League baseball season." Brewer continued.
The Tennessee Turfgrass Association serves its members in the industry through education, promotion and representation. The association supports ongoing programs in research, education and extension in the area of turfgrass management that will benefit all individuals who manage turfgrasses or derive pleasure from the results of such management.
The Generals begin their 15th season on Thursday, April 5, at 7:05 p.m. when they welcome the Birmingham Barons to Pringles Park. For ticket information, please call 731.988.5299 or visit jacksongeneralsbaseball.com online.
