Winning Entries To Grace Concourse

January 25, 2012
RICHMOND, VA - The Flying Squirrels are currently accepting submissions for the 2012 Concourse Art Contest. The theme of this year's contest is "My favorite thing about Flying Squirrels games is..." and the contest is open to all elementary school students in greater Richmond. The contest is presented by Stephanie Hudnell Allstate Insurance. Winning submissions will be displayed on the concourse walls at The Diamond throughout the 2012 season.

"We are very excited to choose all new artwork for the 2012 season for our 3rd Annual Art Contest," Flying Squirrels Director of Promotions Christina Shisler said. "The students always do such a wonderful job and the art contest creates a fun piece for our ballpark that can be shared with thousands of fans throughout the year!"

Contestants may use any drawing material and must draw their designs vertically on 8.5 x 11 inch paper. The student's name, grade, teacher and school district must be indicated on the back of the artwork. Three entries per school will be accepted and the deadline to enter is February 3. The 15 winners will be notified by February 10.

In addition to having their artwork displayed transformed into a 4 x 9 foot sign for display, the winners will receive two complimentary tickets to the Flying Squirrels Opening Night game April 12. Winners will also be recognized on the field prior to the game and have their artwork unveiled at The Diamond.
