Front Office Confidential: Jon Goode
Jon Goode is more than just the Vice President of Corporate Communications for the Spinners (10 points if you can figure out what that title means). His hatred of the Yankees spawned the Spinners' "Yankee Elimination" program, he brought you the "Human Home Run" and his daily consumption of Mountain Dew single handedly funded this year's X-Games. No, he's not the "Most Interesting Man in the World" but he might be a close second. An accomplished recreational basketball player, he's also an established children's book author, charity founder and small business operator. Head spinning yet? He's written three books and is currently working on a fourth. Pitching with the Papelbons, Basketball with Big Baby and Danny Woodhead: Football Dream Come True, were written in collaboration with the Boston sports stars, which have each coincided with a trip to a championship. Goode has also created the C2 Mission, a foundation to benefit children and families affected by Cystic Fibrosis and Cerebral Palsy. It is a charity that is close to his heart, as Jon was born with Cerebral Palsy. But that's not all. He also created KBK Sports which focuses on family events, community and charity with local athletes and celebrities, as well as assists in the marketing efforts of other sports organizations including Boston College and UMass Lowell athletics. He's also a father to who's kids love the Spinners Swampland Kids Area almost as much as the actual games.
