Storm Chasers Announce 2012 (Front Office) Roster

Several staff members received title changes following the successful 2011 season
February 14, 2012
OMAHA, Neb. - Mike Jirschele's 2012 Omaha Storm Chasers squad won't break camp in Surprise, Arizona for more than six weeks, but the front office staff back at Werner Park is already making strides in preparation for the upcoming year.

Today, President and General Manager Martie Cordaro officially announced three full-time hires, four new promotions and the addition of seven new interns for the upcoming season. The group is already assembled and hard at work, and will be adding more than 100 new part time employees as part of the Storm Chasers job fair this Saturday at Alegent Health Midlands Hospital.

The offseason began with two key changes to the front office lineup, as Cordaro shed his VP tag for the role of President, taking over for the retired Alan Stein. His first move was to promote Laurie Schlender to Assistant General Manager of Business Operations, making her the highest-ranking female employee in club history.

Following those developments, Cordaro promoted long-time contributor Andrea Stava to Director of Community Relations, putting her in a lead-off role out in the Omaha metro community. Rustin Buysse (Senior Ticket Sales Executive) and Kaci Long (Ticket Operations Manager), a former intern, solidify the top of the order with home-grown talent. Finally, newly-minted Director of Group Sales Danny Dunbar will look to build off of a strong 2011 campaign, in which thousands of fans drove home happy following a Storm Chasers group event.

Rounding out the new members of the starting lineup are two familiar faces, Ben Tupman (Creative Services Manager) and Ryan Worthen (Ticket Operations Assistant), who were part of a deep Chasers bench of interns last year. Each was elevated to full time roles immediately following the season.

With the starting rotation all coming back from a year ago, the Chasers went out in search of a closer. They scoured the Double-A ranks and found their man in Ticket Sales Executive Andrew Madden, a crafty right-hander who toiled for the Harrisburg Senators in the Eastern League in 2011. In quick time the Storm Chasers have learned that when it's time to "make the call," Madden's their guy.

Rounding out the roster are a group of hot-shot interns looking for their shot at stardom. The class is led by Jared Redding, who earned some service time with the Chasers last season, and his group sales partner in crime Blake Stroth. Community Relations intern Aaron Cox brings the lumber in a big way, as he's been busy Hitting the Books in schools throughout the region for more than a month. Brian Logan, the club's Ticket Operations Intern, has been hard at work getting ready for the upcoming year, while newcomers Andrew Burnett, Max Bochman and Will Karkheck are prepping Werner Park for the season as part of the Ballpark Operations crew.
