Eastbound & Down Inspired Hats on Sale Now!

Caps modeled after Myrtle Beach Mermen Colors
February 17, 2012
MYRTLE BEACH, SC - In anticipation of the third season of HBO's hit series 'Eastbound & Down,' the Myrtle Beach Pelicans have announced the sale of their show-inspired baseball hats at the Pelicans Pro Shop and online at MyrtleBeachPelicans.com.

The designs, donned by some cast members, are New Era 59/50 on-field style with colors inspired by the Myrtle Beach Mermen from 'East Bound & Down.' The Mermen are set to be the new team for feature character Kenny Powers during the show's upcoming season. The cap features a light blue and white script 'MB' logo on a navy blue fitted body. There is also a light blue New Era logo over the left ear. Hat sizes range from six and 5/8 inches to eight inches.

'Eastbound & Down' was filmed, in part, at Pelicans Park last fall. It debuts on HBO Sunday night.

"There's an exciting air of anticipation around the Pelicans family with 'Eastbound & Down' set to premiere its third season," said Pelicans GM Scott Brown. "It's always fun to have been witness to part of the filming process and then to see our ballpark and slice of Myrtle Beach featured on national TV."

Pelicans Season tickets, Flex Books and Mini-Plans for the 2012 Pelicans season are on sale now at the team's Pelicans Park offices or by calling (843) 918-6000. Normal box office hours are Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm. The Pelicans open the 2012 at home against the Wilmington Blue Rocks, Friday, April 6th, at 7:05 pm.
