Threshers set single-game attendance mark

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- The Clearwater Threshers set a single game attendance record of 8,906 tonight, Tuesday, July 3rd, at Bright House Networks Field versus the Tampa Yankees.

The crowd surpassed the previous record of 8,216 set on June 30, 2006. The Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza also set a single day ticket sales record. Tuesday's total ticket sales were 4,181.

Through 41 games this season, Clearwater has notched an attendance of 106,150 and an average of 2,589.

A spring training record of 9,893 was set on Sunday, March 26, 2006 versus the Boston Red Sox.

Bright House Networks Field opened on February 27, 2004. The facility hosts the Philadelphia Phillies Spring Training and Clearwater Threshers home games. There are 7,200 fixed seats with additional 1,500 grass berm seating.

This is the fourth season the Threshers have represented the Phillies Advanced-A affiliate. The Clearwater Phillies represented Philadelphia in the previous 19 seasons (1985-2003). The Phillies have been holding their Spring Training camp in Clearwater since 1947.
