Floyd recalled to Chicago

Fort Mill, SC -- Charlotte Knights pitcher Gavin Floyd has been recalled by the Chicago White Sox. Floyd, who was named recently to the Triple-A All-Star game, is 3-0 in his last four starts with a 3.07 ERA and 27 strikeouts. For the season, he is 7-3, with a 3.10 ERA, 80 strikeouts in 93 innings pitched.

Floyd was acquired in December 2006 along with pitcher Gio Gonzalez from the Philadelphia Phillies for pitcher Freddy Garcia. He was the Phillies number one draft pick, fourth overall, in 2001. Floyd has appeared in 24 major league games, all with Philadelphia, sporting a 7-5 career record and a 6.96 ERA.

The White Sox also announced that pitcher David Aardsma was optioned to Charlotte. Aardsma has appeared in five games for the Knights this season, going 2-1, with one save and a 5.40 ERA.
