PCL attendance continues to rise
Through the month of June, a total of 4,099,201 patrons passed through PCL turnstiles for an average per-game attendance of 6,365.
At this point of the 2006 season, PCL total attendance stood at 4,016,279 with a per game mark of 6,295.
Sacramento again leads the pack this season with over 423,000 total fans and 9,845 fans per game, followed closely by Round Rock who takes over the second place spot from Memphis, currently holding the third position. Iowa and Albuquerque round out the top-5 as they have drawn 325,539 and 299,002 fans respectively through June of the 2007 campaign. The Las Vegas 51s have boosted their per game average from last season by over 600 patrons-a-game for a League-best 13.07-percent increase while New Orleans has also seen a significant improvement, raising their per game average 9.36-percent from 5,165 to 5,648.
The PCL is currently on pace to eclipse its single-season attendance record of 7,413,505 set last season after averaging over 6,600 fans per contest and surpassing the previous season attendance record of 7,346,408.
In the Pacific Coast League and International League combined, over 7.6-million fans attended games in Triple-A ballparks through June of this season.
More than 9-million fans attended Minor League Baseball games in all classifications during June to push the season total to 22,664,601, ahead of the record pace set in 2006 when the industry broke its all-time attendance mark for the third year in a row.
