Red Sox Release Right Handed Pitcher Carlos Silva

The Red Sox today released right-handed pitcher Carlos Silva. Silva signed with Boston as a minor league free agent in December and was a non-roster invite to Major League Spring Training.

The announcement was made by Executive Vice President/General Manager Ben Cherington.

With the move, the Red Sox now have 55 players in Big League Camp, including 36 players from the 40-man roster, two players on 60-day disabled list and 17 non-roster invitees.
