Brandon Marcus to Return as Voice of the Owlz

March 20, 2012

The Orem Owlz are pleased to announce that Brandon Marcus, 24, will return for his second season as the voice of the Owlz.

"It's an honor to head back to Orem for another season. I had a tremendous time working with the Owlz front office, and enjoyed all my time with the team and coaching staff," said Marcus. "Another year in a familiar area will allow me to become even closer to the community."

"We are very excited to have Brandon back in Orem in 2012," said Owlz General Manager Brett Crane. "His hard work and enthusiasm for the game shine through during each of his broadcasts."

Marcus was with the Owlz during the 2011 season, calling both home and road games. The Los Angeles native will arrive in Orem in April to do play-by-play for the University of Utah baseball team, and also assist in sales for the Owlz. He spent the off season working at NFL Network and broadcasting men's and women's basketball for Cal Poly Pomona. While at Pomona, he called a buzzer beater that was featured as a top play on SportsCenter. ESPN used Marcus's audio for all the viewers to hear. You can listen to the call here- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZH95k4u483M&feature=youtu.be

The Owlz will open the 2012 season on June 18th, with the home opener to follow on June 21st. Season tickets are available now by calling the Owlz Front Office at (801) 377-2255. In addition, tickets to the Owlz 5th Annual First Pitch Dinner featuring Dale Murphy can also be purchased by calling the Owlz Front Office.
