'Hawks host 'Tumbleweed Tuesdays'

Lancaster to cut ticket prices based on wind conditions
July 16, 2007
As part of its tribute to the windy conditions that are prevalent in the Antelope Valley, the Lancaster JetHawks will discount Reserved Section tickets for all Tuesday home games during the 2007 regular season, based on the wind recording the day before each Tuesday home game.

The wind gust recording at Clear Channel Stadium this afternoon was a pleasant 15 MPH, meaning Reserved Section tickets will cost only $1.50 for tomorrow's game against the Lake Elsinore Storm. Tickets are priced at 10-cents for each MPH of wind recorded.

JetHawks assistant general manager Jeff Stewart actually took his wind speed reading during the JetHawks Monday night promotion, Feed Your Face Monday, at which fans can purchase All-You-Can-Eat hamburgers, hot dogs, and peanuts. After downing 15 hamburgers, 15 hot dogs, and 15 peanuts in 15 minutes, it dawned on Stewart that the wind speed must be 15 miles per hour. It was further cemented when he arrived home and stepped on the scale to discover that he had gained 15 pounds.

Great tickets for most JetHawks home games are available now. Contact the JetHawks box office by phone at (661) 726-500 or online at www.JetHawks.com.
