Patriots Safety Patrick Chung Coming to Hadlock
Chung will throw out a ceremonial first pitch and will be available to sign free autographs on photos provided by the Portland Sea Dogs for fans from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.
Chung was drafted by the Patriots in the second round (34th overall) in the 2009 NFL Draft. He became a full time starter in 2010 and recorded a career high 16 tackles in week one against the Cincinnati Bengals. In a Monday Night Football matchup on October 4, 2010 against Miami, Chung blocked both a punt and a field goal, which led to two Patriots touchdowns. Chung appeared in eight games for the Patriots in 2011 with 62 tackles and one interception. He has played in 38 career games with 195 tackles and five interceptions. Chung recorded six tackles and defended one pass in Super Bowl XLVI.
Among the other personalities lined-up to visit Hadlock Field in 2012 are Mr. Belding, Boston Bruins forward Shawn Thornton, and Sergeant Slaughter. Mr. Belding from the hit television show Saved by the Bell, is scheduled to be at Hadlock Field on Friday, April 27th for Teacher Appreciation Day. Thornton will be appearing at Hadlock Field on Saturday, June 30th at 6:00 PM, presented by the Asylum Sports Bar & Grill. Famed WWE wrestler Sergeant Slaughter is slated to be at the ballpark on Tuesday, July 24.
The Sea Dogs will open the 2012 season on the road with a 4:05 PM doubleheader in Reading, Pennsylvania against the Reading Phillies. The home opener is slated for Thursday, April 12th at 6:00 PM against the Binghamton Mets at Hadlock Field. The 2012 season will be the Sea Dogs 19th year in Portland and tenth as a Boston Red Sox affiliate.
