Doskow to serve as interim broadcaster for Oakland
March 30, 2012
WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Sacramento River Cats have named Rob McAllister interim broadcaster for both home and road games following the announcement that River Cats long-time broadcaster Johnny Doskow will serve as interim broadcaster for the Oakland A's.

McAllister, a Rocklin native, began his broadcasting career as a student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he was the primary sports commentator for the soccer, basketball and baseball athletic programs. After college, McAllister served as the on-air personality for the ESPN affiliate in Maui, before returning to Sacramento.

McAllister currently serves as a reporter for KFBK 92.5 FM and 1530 AM, in addition to calling high school football and basketball games for KNCO-AM in Nevada County. He is also the in-studio host for Sacramento State Hornets football broadcasts.

Doskow will call Saturday's River Cats exhibition game against the Oakland A's before joining the A's broadcast team for the Bay Bridge Series, which begins April 2 at AT&T Park in San Francisco. McAllister's first game in the River Cats broadcast booth will be Thursday, April 5, at 7:05 p.m. from Cashman Field in Las Vegas, where the Cats take on the Las Vegas 51s.

All 144 River Cats games will be broadcast locally on Talk 650 KSTE and online at rivercats.com.
