The Storm Chasers Roster Stands at 22 Players
"The Storm Chasers had a fantastic season in 2011 that ended in a PCL Championship," said President and General Manager of the Omaha Storm Chasers, Martie Cordaro. "While a championship is never guaranteed, the players that will start in Omaha will make us a very competitive squad."
Anchoring the starting rotation will be twenty-two year old left-hander, Mike Montgomery. Montgomery is ranked as Kansas City's number one prospect according to Baseball America. Other pitchers that hope to produce many scoreless innings for the Storm Chasers include Nate Adcock, Louis Coleman, Roman Colon, Ethan Hollingsworth, Jeremy Jeffress, Vin Mazzaro, Zach Miner, Brandon Sisk, Will Smith and Ryan Verdugo.
Catching for this promising roster of arms will be Cody Clark and Ryan Eigsti. Seeing Clark behind the dish should be a familiar site for Storm Chaser fans as he has played in 123 games for Omaha over the past two seasons.
Familiar faces crop up in the infield as well, with the return of three key members to last year's Storm Chasers squad in the form of Johnny Giavotella, Irving Falu and first baseman Clint Robinson. Rounding out the rest of the infielders are Tony Abreu, Jamie Romak and Anthony Seratelli.
Confirmed to roam the outfield of Werner Park are speedsters Jarrod Dyson, David Lough and Derrick Robinson. The trio of Dyson, Lough and Robinson combined to scorch defenses around baseball for 118 stolen bases last season.
