Chacin, Rockies silence Raptors

Jhoulys Chacin pitched seven dominant innings as Casper shut down visiting Ogden, 6-1, on Friday.

Chacin (3-3) yielded one run on three hits with a walk and seven strikeouts for his second straight win. In his last two starts, the 19-year-old right-hander has given up one earned run on eight hits over 15 innings.

Chad Lembeck hit a solo homer, his third, in the second and Phillip Cuadrado connected for a two-run shot, his first, in the fifth for the Rockies (11-26).

Austin Gallagher's solo homer in the seventh provided the offense for the Raptors (15-21).

Ogden starter Cal Stanke (0-5) became the Pioneer League's second five-game loser after surrendering four runs on five hits and four walks with four strikeouts in four innings. --Denis Gorman/MLB.com
