Hagerty Gives Missions Walk Off Win
San Antonio - The San Antonio Missions catcher Jason Hagerty led off the bottom of the ninth and deposited the first pitch he saw off the scoreboard in right field to give San Antonio a 4-3 win over the NW Arkansas Naturals Monday night.
NW Arkansas took a 3-0 lead but the Missions scored twice in the sixth and once more in the eighth to tie it up and set the stage for Hagerty.
The Missions loaded the bases in the bottom of the sixth and first baseman Nate Freiman's RBI ground out scored Jaff Decker to make it 3-1 and end San Antonio's 24-inning scoreless drought in the process. Edinson Rincon then followed with a sacrifice fly to pull the Missions within one. San Antonio loaded the bases once more but second baseman Dean Anna grounded out to end the inning.
Frieman's solo home run, his second of the season, tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the ninth.
Tomorrow is the final game of the three-game series and it's also the sixth and final game of the season-opening home stand. NW Arkansas will start lefty Chris Dwyer (0-1, 2.08 ERA) and fellow southpaw Juan Oramas (0-1, 54.00 ERA) goes for the Missions.
Tomorrow night is also a $2 Tuesday with $2 parking, $2 tickets, $2 draft beer and $2 Kiolbasa sausages.
