First Ever Sinclair CC Baseball Game at Fifth Third Field
Before the game, Sinclair will also retire the jersey of Sinclair alum Chris Spurling. A former Major League pitcher, Spurling played four seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers and Detroit Tigers. He was a member of the 2006 American League Champion Tigers. Spurling graduated from Northridge High School in Dayton before playing at Sinclair. He was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 1997 MLB Draft. Spurling will also throw out the ceremonial first pitch, and sign autographs for fans at the end of the second inning.
Admission for the game is free, but those planning to attend must have a ticket to enter the ballpark. Tickets can be reserved online at www.sinclair.edu/baseball.
"We're very excited about our relationship with the Dayton Dragons and the opportunity to play at Fifth Third Field," Sinclair Head Coach Steve Dintaman said. "The Dragons are one of the best organizations in all of sports and we're excited to play in a great environment only a few blocks from campus."
In addition to seeing Sinclair play, fans will get a taste of the family entertainment that Fifth Third Field provides during Dayton Dragons games. Dragons mascots Heater and Gem, as well as the Green Team, will be at the game. There will also be some inflatables open for free for fans in attendance.
