Macri, Drillers whip Wranglers

Matthew Macri homered and drove in four runs to power Tulsa to an 11-6 victory over visiting Wichita on Wednesday.

Macri ripped a three-run double to key a five-run fifth inning, then belted his 11th homer, a solo shot in the seventh.

Jordan Czarniecki also went deep for the Drillers (16-21), smacking a three-run shot, his 11th, in the first. Christian Colonel chipped in three hits to raise his batting average to .314 and Christopher Frey drove in two runs.

Sean Thompson (5-8) allowed two runs on three hits in five innings for his first win in three starts for Tulsa. He struck out two and walked four.

Jorge Padilla ripped his sixth homer, a solo shot in the fourth, and Mike Stodolka went 3-for-4 for the Wranglers (15-23).

D.J. Maddox (0-5) was tagged for nine runs on eight hits and four walks, fanning four over 4 1/3 innings. --Alan Friedman/MLB.com
