Yankees' Raber explodes for six RBIs
Raber, who was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 42nd round out of Coastal Carolina University, went 3-for-6 with a two-run single in the fifth and his first career homer in the 10th to put the Yankees (26-19) on top for good. The 22-year-old first baseman nearly doubled his RBI total, as he entered the game with just seven in 25 games.
Don Hollingsworth and Jose Gil each had two RBIs, and Taylor Holiday went 4-for-6 with a double and two runs scored for Staten Island.
Jon Ortiz (3-0) picked up the win despite being charged with a run on two hits and a walk in one inning. Starter Jason Stephens allowed two hits and two walks with two strikeouts in six scoreless frames.
With the Renegades (19-26) trailing, 8-4, in the ninth, Kevin Colin and Greg Sexton each delivered a two-run single to force extra innings.
Brian Flores (1-1) took the loss after surrendering three runs on three hits and two walks over 2 2/3 innings.
