Lopez, Diablos Rojos force Game 7

Mexico routs Tabasco to force a first-round decisive game

Arturo Lopez tossed six scoreless innings as Mexico stifled visiting Tabasco, 8-1, to stay alive in the Mexican League playoffs Thursday.

Lopez (1-1) gave up three hits and struck out three. Roberto Ramirez allowed a run on two hits with three strikeouts over three innings to pick up his first save.

Robert Saucedo lined a two-run single and Saul Soto and Efren Espinoza stroked RBI singles in the fourth inning for the Diablos Rojos (3-3), who evened the best-of-7 series, 3-3. Soto added a run-scoring base hit and Manuel Velez ripped a two-RBI double in a four-run sixth.

Olmecas starter Mac Suzuki (0-2) surrendered five runs on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts over five frames for the loss.

Carlos Sievers lifted a sacrifice fly in the seventh for Tabasco (3-3).
