Indians rally past Dust Devils

Mitchell Moreland drove in a career-high four runs as host Spokane rallied past Tri-City, 9-8, on Tuesday.

Moreland lifted a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning and cracked a bases-loaded triple in the eighth.

Jonathan Greene slugged a solo homer, his 11th, in the fourth, and Matthew Lawson delivered a two-RBI single in the eighth. Renny Osuna and Timothy Rodriguez also drove in runs for the Indians (25-29).

Spokane reliever Tommy Hunter (1-1) got the win despite yielding three runs -- one earned -- on three hits and a walk in 1 1/3 innings. Andrew Laughter recorded the final two outs in the ninth for his seventh save.

Brian Rike delivered a two-run single in the ninth to extend his hitting streak to 11 games, and Helder Velazquez and Darin Holcomb knocked in two runs apiece for the Dust Devils (24-31).

Tri-City starter Cory Riordan surrendered three runs on seven hits and a walk while fanning eight in six frames. Agustin Arias (1-1) was charged with four runs on two hits and two walks in 1 1/3 innings for the loss. --Shane Figueroa/MLB.com
