Knights to host Marvel Comics day

5,000 limited edition comic books to be given away

FORT MILL, S.C. -- The Charlotte Knights, Triple-A Baseball and Marvel Comics are teaming up for Marvel Comics day which will be held on Sunday, Aug. 19 at Knights Stadium during the Knights 2:15 p.m. game against the Indianapolis Indians.

The first 5,000 fans will receive a limited edition comic book. The comic books feature popular Marvel Comics characters such as Spiderman, the Fantastic Four, the Incredible Hulk and Iron Man. Fans will also be able to see the Incredible Hulk, Spiderman and Wolverine live and in person during the game.

Kids 12-and-under can dress up as their favorite Marvel Comics character and receive free admission to the game. The kid selected as having the best costume will win a free suite for the Knights Sept. 2 game against the Durham Bulls.

Gates for the event will open at 1 p.m. The limited edition comic books will only be available on Aug. 19.
