April 19, 2012
The Quad Cities River Bandits will host their first-ever Mother's Day Brunch on Sunday, May 13. Individuals and families can reserve tickets for a special brunch buffet on the Modern Woodmen Park Sky Deck before the 2 p.m. game between the River Bandits and the Cedar Rapids Kernels.

The pre-game brunch buffet will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the Modern Woodmen Park Sky Deck overlooking downtown Davenport and the Mississippi River.

"Families in the Quad Cities area can make so many memories at Modern Woodmen Park throughout the year, and the Mother's Day Brunch will be another great way for families to share a special day at the ballpark," said team owner Dave Heller. "The River Bandits are delighted that families can treat their mothers to brunch and a baseball game - all in one fun-filled, affordable package!"

Tickets for the all-you-can-eat brunch must be purchased in advance and are $25 for adults and $15 for children 10 and under. The ticket includes Sky Deck admission for the River Bandits' 2 p.m. game against the Cedar Rapids Kernels as well as the pregame brunch. The brunch menu includes a salad bar, assorted fresh fruit, danishes and muffins, bagels, scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, mashed potatoes, fresh green beans, glazed ham, roasted turkey, macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, chicken nuggets, assorted sheet cakes, assorted cookies, water and lemonade.

The Sky Deck, which was completed late last season, is a climate-controlled environment that features large glass windows that offer a beautiful view of the Mississippi River to the south and downtown Davenport to the north.

"We are excited to celebrate Mother's Day in a special way at Modern Woodmen Park," said General Manager Stefanie Brown. "Our ballpark has become a great venue for annual and special occasions, such as our Valentine's Day Dinner, that offer people in the Quad Cities a fun, worry-free and memorable day, and we hope the Mother's Day Brunch can become another successful event each year."

Reservations must be made by Monday, May 7, for the Mother's Day Brunch by calling (563)-333-2739 or by emailing [email protected].

ABOUT THE BANDITS: After four years of ballpark improvements, the River Bandits and the City of Davenport last summer unveiled some of the most impressive enhancements to Modern Woodmen Park yet. A brand new, state of the art, high definition 20' x 35' video board went live on June 7, and the newly enclosed glass Sky Deck on the suite level of Modern Woodmen Park was completed last August. Those improvements, in addition to new flood protection, a new front plaza, and a new parking lot directly across the street from the ballpark, are quickly making Modern Woodmen Park one of the premier facilities in all of Minor League Baseball. More improvements are scheduled for this coming season!
