SeaWolves' Kown contains Baysox
Kown (5-8) gave up a run on five hits and a walk while striking out three for his first win since July 24. The 24-year-old right-hander, who also uncorked three wild pitches, had allowed 17 runs over his previous 11 innings.
Alan Mills nailed down his 22nd save, despite giving up a run on three hits and a walk with one strikeout in the ninth.
Trzesniak ripped a two-run homer, his fourth, in the fourth to give the SeaWolves (74-53) a 3-1 lead. Michael Hernandez smacked a solo homer, his first in the Eastern League, in the second and Jeff Larish chipped in a run-scoring single in the fifth for Erie, which remained 2 1/2 games ahead of second-place Akron in the Eastern League Southern Division.
Baysox starter Orlando Roman (1-1) surrendered four runs on five hits and four walks while striking out four in 4 1/3 frames.
