Community Involvement Award presented to Lydon

SYRACUSE, NY - Syracuse Chiefs outfielder Wayne Lydon was presented with the 2007 Harold Berman Community Involvement Award prior to the Chiefs' game against Ottawa on Sunday, August 26.

Lydon was chosen to receive the award for the second consecutive year after once again voluntarily and enthusiastically making many appearances and visits around Central New York.

During the course of the season, Lydon participated in the Chiefs' annual trip to visit children at University Hospital, made two trips to the VA Hospital to visit disabled veterans and made several trips to local Elementary schools.

Lydon also provided instruction at a number of youth clinics and particiapted in several autographs sessions.

Chiefs Director Harold Berman, the man for whom the award is named, and Chiefs president Ron Gersbacher presented Lydon with a plaque in an on-field ceremony.
