Wickland is FSL Trainer of the Year

Tampa Yankees trainer recognized by peers

Daytona Beach, FL - The Florida State League Office announced today that the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainer's Society (PBATS) has named Mike Wickland of the Tampa Yankees as the League's 2007 Athletic Trainer of the Year. Mike was selected by his peers in the League. Mike now becomes one of the sixteen league winners to be considered for Minor League Trainer of the Year, which will be announced and awarded at the Winter Meetings.

Mike Wickland is serving his eighth consecutive season as a trainer in the Yankee organization and his sixth year at Tampa. Mike moved to Tampa prior to the 2002 season after working as a Trainer for the Greensboro Bats in 2001. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports science. He was an Athletic Trainer at VHC Greensboro during his four years there.
