Chiefs announce 2008 Schedule

SYRACUSE (NY) - The Syracuse Chiefs will open the 2008 season on Thursday, April 3 against the Louisville Bats (Cincinnati Reds), at Alliance Bank Stadium. The game is part of an eight game homestand with the first four against the Bats and the last four (April 7-10) against the Indianapolis Indians (Pittsburgh Pirates).

"We are thrilled to announce our 2008 schedule, and give our fans a chance to plan ahead for next year," said Chiefs General Manager John Simone. "We are looking forward to a historic opening day, when we play on grass, for the first time, at Alliance Bank Stadium."

The Chiefs will play 14 home games in the months of April and May, and 15 in June. The months of July and August feature 14 home games and the season concludes, at home, on September 1.

Highlights of the schedule include series with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees (April 26-27, July 29-August 1, August 31-September 1), Buffalo Bisons (May 5-8, July 8-9, August 22-23), and Rochester Red Wings (May 17-20, August 16-17, August 24-25). The Chiefs will also play against the new Philadelphia Phillies Triple-A affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs (April 19-22, July 10-13).

The Chiefs will play the final home game of the 2007 season tonight, against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees. Game time is 7:15 PM and there will be a fireworks show following the game. Tickets are available by calling (315) 474-7833 or by going online to www.syracusechiefs.com.
