Johnson hits Dogs past Thunder
After the Thunder (80-58) scored two runs in the top of the ninth to tie the game at 6-6, Aaron Bates hit a one-out double and was lifted for pinch-runner Zach Borowiak. Bryan Prit was intentionally walked by reliever Kevin Whelan (3-2) but Johnson followed with a base hit to right for the game-winner.
Jeffrey Corsaletti belted a three-run homer in the second and Pritz added a solo shot, his seventh, in the fifth for the Sea Dogs (70-67).for the Sea Dogs (70-67). eff Natale was hit by a pitch for the 20th time this sesaon in the second, matching the franchise record set by David Bacani in 2006.
Reliever Michael James (2-3) picked up the win, despite allowing two runs on three hits and a walk in the ninth. Starter Thomas Hottovy gave up two runs on six hits in seven frames, fanning six and walking two.
Colin Curtis went 3-for-5 with a solo homer, his second Double-A blast, in the first and a game-tying RBI single in the ninth, while Jason Brown hit his first homer for the Thunder.
