Kane Davis joins Phillies

OTTAWA - RHP Kane Davis had his contract purchased by the Lynx parent Club, the Philadelphia Phillies. RHP Geoff Geary has been optioned to Ottawa to make room for Davis in Philadelphia.

Davis, 32, has been in the Lynx bullpen all season. He has amassed a 3-3 record with four saves and a 3.06 ERA in so team-leading 41 games with the Lynx. This will be Davis's first Major League call-up since 2005, when he played 15 games for the Milwaukee Brewers. In all, Davis has a 4-9 record with a 5.53 ERA in 96 Major League games with Cleveland, Milwaukee, Colorado and the New York Mets.

Geary, 30, was 2-1 with a 2.54 ERA in 14 games with the Lynx. He struck out 21 batters in 25 innings. Geary has accumulated a 1-2 record with a 5.01 ERA in 44 games with the Phillies this season. Last year, he reached career highs in wins (7), innings (91.1), games (81) and strikeouts (60). Geary finished tied for second among National League relievers in innings, third in winning percentage, tied for fourth in wins and tied for sixth in games played. This is his 10th professional season.
